If you are unable to attend one of the events held around the country, many organizations will host an online learning celebration through virtual exhibits and demonstrations. Throughout this month-long celebration of culture, organizations and museums-such as the Smithsonian Institution, Library of Congress, and the National Park Service-along with numerous schools, churches, and other venues will honor the importance and vibrancy of Latin American and Hispanic culture and people as they have deeply and beneficially influenced the United States. She reflects on the challenges and pressures that came with being the first Hispanic female Article III judge in Pennsylvania, the first Asian American Article III judge in Pennsylvania, and the first South Asian American female Article III judge in the United States.This year, National Hispanic Heritage Month begins on Sunday, September 15, and concludes one month later on Tuesday, October 15. Her parents, immigrants of Hispanic and East Indian descent, instilled in her the value of hard work and perseverance.
